The objective of the Agroindustrial Sector Business Meeting is to facilitate the relationship between small
and medium Latin American companies and Europeans companies, by supporting the development of
commercial activities, technological and technical cooperation, besides the opportunity to make a lot
of different private investments between companies from both sides of the Atlantic.
The search for new technology is important to Latin American companies that looks forward to
provide more food security (quality, certification and to pursue) to their alimentary product, in
order to prospect on markets that are becoming more choosy day after day.
Brazil and other Latin American countries will be benefited by identifying this competitiveness
on event of this bigness, in order to enlarge theirs product’s lodger value. |

| What is AI-Invest program? |
|
|
|
The AL-INVEST Program was launched in 1993 by the European Commission (Europe Aid Cooperation Office) with the aim of contributing to the globalization of European and Latin American companies, supporting investments, technology transference, joint ventures, and other types of commercial agreements between firms of the same field in a systematic and continuous way; thus reinforcing interregional bonds between both continents. |

TECH ALIMENTAÇÃO 2006 is a business meeting among European and Latin American companies from the food processing and industrialization field, by means of a pre-determined schedules. Its goal is to encourage globalization of those firms from both continents behind technical and commercial cooperation.
This meeting is promoted by Eurocentro Goiás of the Federation of Industries of State of Goiás (FIEG), with the support of the European Commission through the AL-INVEST Program of enterprise cooperation. It will be carried out in the FFATIA 2006 Fair from October 25 to 27. |

FFATIA, acronym in Spanish for Suppliers and Food Industry Technology Improvement Trade Fair (www.ffatia.com.br), has found its place as one of the leading fairs in Brazil. In 2005, FFATIA hosted 180 exhibiting companies and received about 26.000 visitors, a great amount of business was carried out among the attendant and exhibiting firms.
FFATIA will take place in the Cultural and Convention Center from October 25 to 27 , 2006 in the city of Goiânia, State of Goiás Brazil. |

Currently Goiás is a State in full development, currently the tenth economy in Brazil and the ninth most competitive having an annual growth of 70% greater than the national average. The economy of Goiás is founded on the combination of crop production, cattle ranching, industries and commerce. Local industry is composed of 12 thousand companies. One of the major highlights of this industry is the food sector, which accounts for 3 thousand plants. The food sector is the main sector in the Goiás industry. Annual revenues are in the order of R$ 4.0 billion, a volume that accounts for 10% of the local GNP. In the past five years (1999-2004), the sector is answerable for half of the jobs created by the industrial sector in Goiás. The most expressive sectors are beef, pickles, dairy and wheat by-products. 40% of local production is exported. There are also 100 companies that act in the beverage sector. |
